Slowly but surely I'm making gains in the ER. Last time I was there, they let me go get the patients from the waiting room and seat them wherever the charge nurse wanted them. And also, one of the nurses bought me some hairclips! Hahaha. The week before her bangs were in her face, so I gave her two of mine (since I was wearing four that day). Well because they were crappy and she found a two for one deal, she gave me a package :)

Today I started working with a young boy at church. He has autism, and is almost completely nonverbal. I figured if I was going into primary care, I'm going to need experience working with people with disabilities. Not only that, I've been praying about finding a church I can serve in, so the timing was great. I learned a lot about autism in that hour I was with him. I did get lots of hugs that were unexpected! I was a little startled at first when his mom was telling me that he might hit or kick me, but she thought it would be ok because he's only a small child and I could restrain him. Thankfully I didn't have to take any of those measures. :)
