SCORE!

So my neighbor is a surgeon (his wife is an IM doc as well, and I occasionally babysit for them), and he just contacted an orthopedic colleague of his who is going to let me shadow his PAs. This makes me so excited! It's been stupidly hard to find people to shadow, as everyone is concerned about HIPAA and whatnot. Not only that, both my neighbor and the ortho surgeon want me to spend time in the OR watching them. This is absolutely fantastic. I feel like it is Christmas time :).

I've found that when it comes to getting this kind of experience, it's all about who you know and their connections. I've failed 100% of the time when I have called up random offices that employ PAs, but when I've had someone I know ask someone they know in the field, it's always worked out.
