It is a well known fact that you need lots of support from others to get through PA school. I was even asked during my interview with my school what my support system was like, and my relationships with my friends and family. I can with confidence say that I have the best family and friends anyone could ask for. They have made saying goodbye and starting this transition easy (to a point, no one likes saying good bye to someone they love).
Last Saturday my friends threw me a surprise scavenger hunt---one that was a challenge and involved photography. Those are three of my favorite things! They also made up a great good bye song (which I would love the lyrics to!) It was perfect in the sense that everyone was there and it was laid back and chill, AND we got to celebrate another friend's birthday as well. It was a great, great night. Oh yeah, we had a mini BBQ family style which is also one of my favorites things in life!
Last night, the family I live with threw me a BBQ for all my friends and families whom I nanny for. It was so awesome having everyone there at the same time (although hard because I couldn't talk to everyone as much as I wanted to!). Beautiful weather too. I was so proud that my parents could be there and meet all the kids and people I brag about daily.
I have felt so blessed over this past week, and I think I'm going to start saving up all these reminders of support in a box for those days when I'm dragging or at my wit's end. I just hope I have a big enough box :)
