Yesterday was our marathon lab day which I loved. I got to dissect for 7.5 hours. We did posterior legs, hips, and feet. I spent a good chunk of my time skinning the feet which was only made gross by the fact that my foot had a major fungal infection going on.

We learned a lot about our body. He had a blood clot in the artery of the back of his knee. He had a huge hernia, which is when the intestines stick out between a
Muscle wall. We also reflected his patellar tendon and looked inside his knee, and it was prettbadge. He had severe arthritis and build up of bone in his knee, and his acl and menisci had distentegrated. He must have been able to walk or move very well, between his knee issues and the connective tissue disorder he had. I don't know if I mentioned this, but we found another tumor on the side of his knee area.

Our TAs told us the cause of death, which was dementia and asphyxiation pneumonia, which I had actually found evidence of. It made me feel bad just to realize what kind of life he must have been living just before he died.

We have another 3.5 day weekend, but this one is going to be filled with studying, as next week is exam week again.
