Today was great! We had anatomy 9-12 and then lab from 1-3. I started out the day by shooting around in the gym, which was great because it was empty and in great condition (it was also an NBA court with NBA markings which made it that much more fun :)). Our activities center is actually really nice. It's small but everything is clean and new. Oh, it's also pretty sweet that we don't start class until 9. I can stay up later, although I still seem to be waking up no later than 6. That gives me so much more time in the a.m though to get stuff done.
Both classes flew. In anatomy we covered the anatomy of the skull and brain, all the holes and bumpy parts and fossas and on and on. Did you know that the scalp is actually an acronym for the layers of tissue covering the skull? (Skin, dense Connective tissue, Aponeurosis, Loose connective tissue, Pericranium). I like the professor as he definitely knows what he is talking about. He definitely talks in circles sometimes, but the great thing is that he always gets back to the point and knows that he is talking in circles.
After anatomy we broke for lunch, and then we had lab. Today we just worked with plastic models of the skull. When we first started I felt challenged by how much we had to know about the skull anatomy, but after lab ended I felt great about what I had learned. This is half of what we covered:
I learned all that in about half an hour! Pretty sweet. I have some studying to do when it comes to the sinuses in the brain, but other than that I feel confident about what we learned today.
I love my apartment and roommates, I am so lucky to have the situation I do. Our apartment is wicked hot though, and thankfully one of my roommates brought a fan from home to help keep things cool. Otherwise I might be relegated to spending all my study time at school where at least there is AC.
