I'm so tired. We had three exams, a paper, and a standardized patient this week (plus we are somehow supposed to be studying for boards amongst this craziness, which are in a month). It's getting to the point where I'm starting to have these amnesic episodes where I'll get to point A and point B in time and not know how I got there...almost like I am under anesthesia for 10-15 seconds. What a trippy and bizarre feeling. We had our OB-GYN exam this morning and since it was a monster exam with tons of material and we had two other exams already this week, I had to stay up late to study for it...that's an interesting battle, having a body that's crying out for sleep, but your brain is forcing you to read about pap smears and nasty STDs and the billion things that can go wrong with pregnancy (seriously, I had no idea it was so hard to have a successful pregnancy!)

To make things better, today was the first time we had to practice presenting our patients to our faculty. Here we all are, exhausted and none of us have been able to prepare at all / learn how to even present a patient, when I walk into the room and my pt is severely obtunded and can't answer my questions!! haha. Even better the little info that was given to me was whacked out and the storyline made no sense. I did the best I could and other than omitting my general impressions (DOH) it was ok.

This is my current facebook status:

Since we started class 54 weeks ago, we have had approximately 63 exams, 48 quizzes, 7 practicals, 18 writeups, 10 papers, 5 presentations, and 18 SPs, not including Vegas assignments....take away 3 weeks of vacation (Christmas/Vegas), that's about 3.3 graded things per week...good job guys :)
No wonder we're all so tired!
