I guess they heard me all the way over there at the school I applied to. This is the email I just got:

Dear Candidate,

Thank you for applying and interviewing for a place in the [school name] Physician Assistant Program’s Class of 2011. Admissions decisions are always difficult, and this year’s excellent pool of applicants made the committee’s work particularly challenging.

Although we are not currently able to offer you a seat, we have placed your name on our alternate list. This means that if one of the first thirty candidates selected should decide to go to school elsewhere or to withdraw for other reasons, it is currently feasible for you to be offered admission to the PA Program.

Please respond if you wish to remain on the alternate list or if you prefer that your name not be maintained for this purpose, by e-mailing me at [email address] , or by calling the Program Office at [phone number].

On behalf of the Admission’s Committee, I remain available to answer any questions that you may have. We wish you all possible success in your future endeavors.

So I got an email but not an definite answer. This is exactly what I had predicted, being waitlisted, so no surprises there. I emailed the program back asking what number I am on the list to get a better feel of my chances of getting a spot. I'm not upset, though hopefully they do rank their list and I'll at least have one idea of where I stand. :)
