We had our white coat ceremony yesterday. My parents came down and loved the school, apartment, roommates, everything. It was pretty short as far as ceremonies go, I think they did a great job. We heard from the PD and class of 2010 president about what our education would be like, had our coats put on us by our faculty, recited the oath, and then we were done! After I happened to run into the school's president, who is probably the most sincerely welcoming person I have ever met! If Mr. Rogers was ever the president of a med school, that would be him.
My parents and I went into Philly afterward. We went to see the Liberty Bell, Eastern State Penitentiary, and Rocky statue and steps at the Art Musuem. It was a good day but tiring.
We start Monday, and our schedule is packed! Thankfully, based on my lab group time this week, I pretty much have Friday off, which means a 3 day weekend. This week we have lectures on the head and face, with three different labs. Today I found a Salvation Army to go to in order to get clothes and shoes that I can wear to anatomy lab and throw away at the end of the semester.
